you many ways to find your perfect home.<\/a><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Shephard\u2019s Vineyard<\/h3>\n<p>Knollwood runs into Shepherd\u2019s Vineyard, which is an early example of a master planned community.\u00a0 The majority of the homes here were built in the 1980\u2019s and 1990\u2019s.\u00a0 Shepherd\u2019s Vineyard does have an HOA and you can see the difference in the HOA governed subdivision versus the non-HOA governed subdivision when you drive from Knollwood into Shepherd\u2019s Vineyard.\u00a0 The lots are smaller, but generally better maintained.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The amenities in Shepherd\u2019s Vineyard include a community pool, a playground, walking trails, tennis courts and a sand volleyball court.\u00a0 The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wake.gov\/departments-government\/libraries\/locations\/eva-perry-regional-library\">Eva Perry Library actually sits in the neighborhood<\/a>, so you can walk or bike to the library fairly easily.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-2 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-element-caption\">The Eva Perry Library is in Shepherd\u2019s Vineyard and an easy walk for residents.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The home prices in here range from the mid $500k to above $700k.\u00a0 Home sizes range from 1500 to 3200 square feet.\u00a0 There are some townhomes in the community, but the majority of homes are single family homes.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Shepherd\u2019s Vineyard is also walkable to downtown Apex and all the amenities there: shopping, restaurants,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.apexnc.org\/485\/Trackside-Skate-Plaza\"> a skate park<\/a>, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apexnc.org\/456\/Dog-Parks\">dog park<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apexnc.org\/798\/Hunter-Street-Park\">several athletic fields<\/a>.\u00a0 The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apexnc.org\/453\/John-M-Brown-Community-Center\">Apex Community Center <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apexnc.org\/515\/Apex-Senior-Center\">Senior Center<\/a> are also in downtown and walkable from Shepherd\u2019s Vineyard.\u00a0 There is so much programming that takes place in these community centers, it really is amazing.  <\/p>\n<p>The neighborhoods that we\u2019ll look at in Cary do not have in-town, walkable, amenities like the neighborhoods we\u2019re looking at in Apex.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Villages of Apex<\/h3>\n<p>The Villages of Apex is another planned community right next to downtown Apex.\u00a0 One of the things that sets this community apart from many others is that the builder used a lot of very vibrant paint colors on the exteriors of the homes.\u00a0 They also incorporated some architectural elements that aren\u2019t all that common in the Triangle.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images the neighborhood you\u2019ll see a mix of styles from traditional townhomes to Victorian inspired elevations.\u00a0 There are many townhomes in the Villages of Apex along with the single-family homes.\u00a0 The homes sit right up on the street with the garages to the homes accessed through back alleyways.\u00a0 This makes for a very nice streetscape and gives the whole community the feeling of an older village.<\/p>\n<p>Prices in the Villages of Apex begin in the high $300k\u2019s and go up into the $800k\u2019s.\u00a0 There is a pond in the neighborhood with walking trails as well as a community pool and clubhouse.\u00a0 And of course, all the amenities of downtown Apex are within walking distance.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Haddon Hall<\/h3>\n<p>Haddon Hall was another master planned community built in the 1990\u2019s.\u00a0 There is a pool and clubhouse in the neighborhood.\u00a0 They\u2019ve got walking trails and tennis courts as well.\u00a0 And you can actually walk both to Downtown Apex and Beaver Creek Shopping Center, depending where you are in the neighborhood. Home sizes range from around 1000 square feet to 5800 square feet.\u00a0 The lot sizes are generous compared to a lot of new construction neighborhoods today, especially this close into town.\u00a0 Lot sizes for single family homes range from .25 to .33 acres.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cary Neighborhoods near Costco<\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MacGregor Downs<\/h3>\n<p>McGregor Downs is one of the truly aspirational neighborhoods in the Triangle. Governor\u2019s Club in Chapel Hill would be one of the others.\u00a0 Part of what makes both MacGregor and Governor\u2019s Club unique is not just the large beautiful homes, but the maturity of the neighborhoods.\u00a0 They\u2019re both built around a beautiful golf course with a country club.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-5 isn\u2019t hard to see why people would love to live in MacGregor.\u00a0 The homes are beautiful and sit on large lots.\u00a0 Because of the age of the community the homes in MacGregor are eclectic.\u00a0 Some were built in the 1960\u2019s and some were built in 2024.\u00a0 The variation in style that this creates makes this upscale neighborhood feel homey and unpretentious.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-6 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image though the elevations of the homes are varied, they mostly reflect the floorplans of the 1990\u2019s.\u00a0 This generally means a foyer with a family, living, dining, and kitchen downstairs and the primary suite and secondary bedrooms up.\u00a0 They usually will also have a bonus room over the two-car garage.\u00a0 While luxurious in the 90\u2019s, these floor plans lack the vaulted ceilings and open concepts that are currently popular.<\/p>\n<p>What you get is location.\u00a0 Homes at this price range in towns and communities a little further out are generally much newer and often incorporate the newer style of interior living.\u00a0 You can get homes with more modern floorplans in Cary, it will just cost you more money.<\/p>\n<p>Picardy Pointe is right next to the Apex Nature Park, which has a large lake,\u00a0 walking trails, pavilions, tennis and volleyball courts, even an obstacle course for the little ones.\u00a0 Picardy Pointe does have its own pool and tennis courts as well.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Normandie<\/h3>\n<p>Normandie could be considered a step up from Picardy Pointe and just below MacGregor.\u00a0 Prices will range from the $800k\u2019s into the $1.5 million.\u00a0 For that you\u2019ll be getting homes around 5000 square feet.\u00a0 Unlike the eclectic feeling of MacGregor, Normandie feels more cohesive.<\/p>\n<p>Normandie runs right into MacGregor, but you can feel it when you cross into the other neighborhood.\u00a0 Normandie is manicured and younger.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default
