In short, these elements combined at scale don\u2019t lose efficacy, but gain momentum. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s easier said than done, as that \u201cdiscovery process\u201d will often involve a massive amount of interaction, to \u201cstumble upon\u201d these simple building blocks.<\/p>\n<p><span>Thus, scaling means the ability to start small and create options; these options become bets, and by\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/businessengineer.ai\/p\/asymmetric-bets\" rel=\"\">placing multiple \u201casymmetric bets,\u201d<\/a><span>\u00a0you get very few picking up, and from there, you\u2019ll see traction and momentum. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>A core issue there, thus, is, for one thing, how we create these options. <\/p>\n<p>Second, how do we place bets with chances to succeed?<\/p>\n<p>And third, how do we scale the ones that worked? <\/p>\n<p>The first principle of scaling is how small you need to go to create proper feedback loops while smoothing out the cost of error. <\/p>\n<p>As you scale, you need two elements to inform you: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><em><span>Are there <\/span><strong>enough error margins<\/strong><span> to keep experimenting without breaking the whole thing?<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><em><span>Do we get <\/span><strong>proper, tight feedback loops<\/strong><span> that inform the growth path toward optimal scalability?<\/span><\/em><span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For that matter, I\u2019ve placed these elements on a matrix where the cost of error (from low to high) and feedback loop type (from market. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/businessengineer.ai\/p\/on-business-scaling\" rel=\"\">In fact, as I\u2019ve explained in business scaling, <\/a><span>it is, at its core, a market discovery
