The United States (US) Army has awarded Boeing a $240 million contract to remanufacture five additional MH-47G Block II Chinooks for special ops deployment.<\/p>\n

The order was negotiated by the US Army<\/a> Special Operations Aviation Command (USASOAC), which \u201corganizes, mans, trains, resources and equips\u201d elite units in support of national security objectives.<\/p>\n

On March 27, 2025, USASOAC declared that deliveries of the MH-47G Block II Chinooks are scheduled to begin in 2027.<\/p>\n

\u201cSupporting the needs of our special operators continues to be critically important,\u201d said Heather McBryan, Cargo Programs Vice President and Program Manager for Boeing Defense<\/a>, Space and Security. \u201cUSASOAC has unique and complex mission requirements, so it\u2019s vital we provide the enhanced capabilities of the MH-47G Block II as quickly as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

Including the newly announced agreement, the US Army has now contracted for a total of 51 MH-47G Block II Chinook aircraft.<\/p>\n

The new award follows USASOAC\u2019s acquisition of four MH-47G Block II aircraft in 2024.<\/p>\n
