This is the first of three Dogfish Head<\/a> beer reviews that make up their 2023\/24 Winter Warmer releases (there\u2019s a fourth beer in this series, but we didn\u2019t get to review it. Yet!). Crimson Cru is its name and it\u2019s a collaboration of sorts with Belgium\u2019s great Rodenbach brewery.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what Dogfish Head had to say about this beer on their website<\/a>:<\/p>\n

With more than 225 years of collective brewing experience, we\u2019ve connected with our friends at Rodenbach yet again. A beer 2,800 nautical miles in the making, Crimson Cru is a liquid love letter we floated across the Atlantic Ocean \u2026 and back.<\/em><\/p>\n

Deep copper in color, Crimson Cru begins with Rodenbach\u2019s world-renowned Grand Cru, a Flemish red-brown ale aged in oak casks, that made the overseas trek from Belgium to Delaware via tanker ship. After its cross-Atlantic journey, Rodenbach\u2019s Grand Cru was artfully blended with an off-centered red ale we infused with sumac and sweet orange peel that was then dry-hopped with Hallertau Blanc hops.<\/em><\/p>\n

As part of our 2023 Off-Centered Art Series, Crimson Cru boasts a bold packaging design by Natalya Balnova.<\/em><\/p>\n
