{"id":158779,"date":"2025-03-27T01:13:52","date_gmt":"2025-03-27T01:13:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peraltafinancing.com\/animation\/itoosoft-releases-forest-pack-9-0-for-3ds-max\/"},"modified":"2025-03-27T01:13:52","modified_gmt":"2025-03-27T01:13:52","slug":"itoosoft-releases-forest-pack-9-0-for-3ds-max","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=158779","title":{"rendered":"Itoosoft releases Forest Pack 9.0 for 3ds Max"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"\">\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"ForestPack 9 is out now - including ForestIvy a brand new plugin for 3ds Max from ITOOSOFT\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IZbvlPd7_Nw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Itoosoft has released <a href=\"https:\/\/www.itoosoft.com\/blog\/forestpack-9-for-3ds-max\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Forest Pack 9.0<\/a>, the latest version of its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.itoosoft.com\/forestpack.php\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">scattering plugin<\/a> for 3ds Max.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cmost ambitious release in years\u201d, the update adds ForestIvy, an accompanying plugin for generating 3D ivy and other climbing plants using a mix of manual and parametric workflow.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The \u2018ultimate scattering tool for 3ds Max\u2019<\/strong><br \/>Described by iToo as \u201cthe ultimate scattering tool for 3ds Max\u201d, Forest Pack is designed to distribute objects across a scene: usually plant models, but also rocks, buildings or lights.<\/p>\n<p>The plugin can generate scenes with hundreds of thousands of scattered objects, with a point cloud display mode to improve viewport response, and the option to convert Forest Pack objects to Max\u2019s native instances.<\/p>\n<p>The scattering process is fully parametric, and object distribution can also be controlled by image maps, splines or painting directly onto terrain geometry.<\/p>\n<p>Forest Pack can scatter both static and animated objects, with the option to randomise both texture maps and the time offset of animation cycles, or control them via image maps.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Forest Pack 9.0: new ForestIvy plugin generates 3D climbing plants<\/strong><br \/>The main new feature in Forest Pack 9.0 \u2013 the paid Pro edition, at least \u2013 is <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.itoosoft.com\/forestpack\/forest-ivy\/forest-ivy-overview\" target=\"_blank\">ForestIvy<\/a>, a new bundled plugin for generating 3D ivy and other climbing plants.<\/p>\n<p>Users set the overall form of the ivy using a combination of manual and procedural workflow, drawing it directly onto surfaces, generating it automatically, or blending between the two.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s also possible to generate vegetation without an underlying surface, to create \u201cbasic bushes and shrubs\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>For finer control, the plugin includes parametric control for properties like branching pattern, the response of the plant to gravity, and the distribution of leaves and flowers.<\/p>\n<p>ForestIvy ships with 30 presets based on real-world leaf scans, making it possible to recreate a range of types of climbing plants.<\/p>\n<p>To improve performance, the plugin uses viewport and render-time instancing: the initial release is supported in Arnold and V-Ray CPU, but \u201cother renderers should add support soon\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Workflow and performance updates to the core plugin<\/strong><br \/>As well as ForestIvy, there are a number of workflow and performance improvements to Forest Pack itself.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.itoosoft.com\/forestpack\/forest-plugin\/distribution\/image-mode\" target=\"_blank\">Distribution maps<\/a> now support multiple mapping channels, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.itoosoft.com\/forestpack\/forest-plugin\/surfaces\" target=\"_blank\">Randomize Stacked<\/a> setting now supports stacked splines as well as areas.<\/p>\n<p>The ForestSet helper plugin added in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cgchannel.com\/2023\/06\/itoo-software-releases-forest-pack-8-for-3ds-max\/\" target=\"_blank\">Forest Pack 8.0<\/a> has been updated, to make it possible to move items from the Geometry List to ForestSet objects.<\/p>\n<p>There are also updates to the UI, Library Browser, camera clipping, memory management, and support for V-Ray Proxies. You can find a full list of changes via the link at the foot of the story.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pricing and availability<\/strong><br \/>Forest Pack 9.0 is compatible with 3ds Max 2019+ running on Windows 10+. You can <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.itoosoft.com\/forestpack\/requirements\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">find a list of compatible render engines here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>New perpetual licences cost $275. There is also a <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.itoosoft.com\/forestpack\/lite-and-pro\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">free Lite edition<\/a>.
