And it\u2019s where you\u2019re going to spend the night.<\/p>\n<p>You only have one option for accommodation here, so make sure you book a night at the Upper Hill Farm Bed &amp; Breakfast well in advance.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Day_3_Walk_From_Cleeve_Hill_To_Birdlip\"\/>Day 3: Walk From Cleeve Hill To Birdlip<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h3>\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns has-base-3-color has-text-color has-background is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-4 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\" style=\"background-color:#0087ad\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Start Point: <\/strong>Cleeve Hill<\/li>\n<li><strong>Distance: <\/strong>16 miles (26km)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Total Ascent: <\/strong>699 m (2,295 ft)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Finish Point: <\/strong>Birdlip<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" alt=\"Leckhampton Hill with Devil's Chimney seen on the Cotswold Way\" class=\"wp-image-1083152\" src=\"https:\/\/monkeysandmountains.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Leckhampton-Hill.jpg\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Devil\u2019s Chimney in Leckhampton Hill<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>You\u2019ll start your day by heading along the west side of the escarpment, which gives you stunning views of the town of Cheltenham and across the Vale of Gloucester.<\/p>\n<p>After a short walk, you\u2019ll make your way down to Dowdeswell Wood Nature Reserve, where you\u2019ll be walking parallel to it.<\/p>\n<p>During this section of the hike, you\u2019ll see an abundance of brightly coloured flowers that look like carpets to the trees. It\u2019s a beautiful part of today\u2019s walk if you hit the trail when the flowers are in full bloom.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after, you\u2019ll pass Seven Springs, a small hamlet in a very wooded area. As you\u2019re hiking up the 300-meter-high Leckhampton Hill, keep an eye out for the Devil\u2019s Chimney, a very distinctive pinnacle of rock.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll descend down Crickley Hill before reaching the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.booking.com\/searchresults.xu.html?city=-2589972&amp;aid=811707&amp;no_rooms=1&amp;group_adults=2&amp;room1=A%2CA&amp;label=cotswoldway\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-lasso-id=\"31108\" data-lasso-name=\"Booking.com:&#10;Hotels in Birdlip.&#10;Book your hotel now!\">village of Birdlip<\/a>, your resting place for the night.<\/p>\n<p>Although today is officially surpassed to finish at Birdlip, I suggest stopping just before that at The Barn, which is an excellent little accommodation.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Day_4_Walk_From_Birdlip_To_Painswick\"\/>Day 4: Walk From Birdlip To Painswick<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h3>\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns has-base-3-color has-text-color has-background is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-5 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\" style=\"background-color:#0087ad\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Start Point: <\/strong>Birdlip<\/li>\n<li><strong>Distance: <\/strong>7 miles (12 km)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Total Ascent: <\/strong>279 m (918 ft)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Finish Point: <\/strong>Painswick<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" alt=\"Painswick town, one of the routes on the Cotswold Way\" class=\"wp-image-1083154\" src=\"https:\/\/monkeysandmountains.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Painswick.jpg\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Painswick Town<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Today\u2019s walk is excellent. You leave Birdlip and walk through woodland until you reach Cooper\u2019s Hill. The first part of the walk takes you up the 256-meter Scottsquar Hill before heading to Haresfield Beacon (an area of scientific interest), where you can get stunning countryside views.<\/p>\n<p>You then head over to Stroudwater Canal before you reach the town of King\u2019s Stanley for the night.<\/p>\n<p>Be sure to check out <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Stanley_Woolen_Mill\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-lasso-id=\"31030\">Stanley Woollen Mills<\/a> for a glimpse into wool-making history.
