{"id":156234,"date":"2025-03-25T18:48:02","date_gmt":"2025-03-25T18:48:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peraltafinancing.com\/altcoin\/president-trumps-world-liberty-financial-announces-launch-of-institutional-ready-stablecoin-usd1\/"},"modified":"2025-03-25T18:48:02","modified_gmt":"2025-03-25T18:48:02","slug":"president-trumps-world-liberty-financial-announces-launch-of-institutional-ready-stablecoin-usd1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=156234","title":{"rendered":"President Trump\u2019s World Liberty Financial Announces Launch of \u2018Institutional-Ready\u2019 Stablecoin USD1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>President Trump-backed World Liberty Financial is announcing plans to launch a new stablecoin on Tuesday that would be aimed at bridging traditional finance with digital assets.<\/p>\n<p>According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businesswire.com\/news\/home\/20250325773694\/en\/World-Liberty-Financial-Plans-to-Launch-USD1-the-Institutional-Ready-Stablecoin\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">press release<\/a>, the new stablecoin is called USD1, which will be pegged to the US dollar and backed by short-term government treasuries, dollar deposits and cash equivalents.<\/p>\n<p>Says World Liberty Financial co-founder Zach Witkoff,<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cUSD1 provides what algorithmic and anonymous crypto projects cannot\u2014access to the power of DeFi underpinned by the credibility and safeguards of the most respected names in traditional finance.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>We\u2019re offering a digital dollar stablecoin that sovereign investors and major institutions can confidently integrate into their strategies for seamless, secure cross-border transactions.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Initially available on Ethereum (<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyhodl.com\/currencies\/ethereum\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ETH<\/a>) and Binance Smart Chain (BSC) networks, USD1 targets institutional and sovereign investors.<\/p>\n<p>The platform has secured partnerships with BitGo, a digital asset custody firm, and completed $550 million in token sales. Mike Belshe, BitGo\u2019s CEO, described the collaboration as a significant advancement in digital asset legitimacy.<\/p>\n<p>To attract institutional adoption, WLFI says that USD1 prioritizes stability with a \u201cconservative approach\u201d that avoids complex yield-generating mechanisms, unlike other stablecoins that \u201cintroduce additional risk factors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Oxygen-Sans, Ubuntu, Cantarell, 'Helvetica Neue', sans-serif;\">USD1 will undergo regular third-party audits to ensure transparency.
