{"id":155059,"date":"2025-03-25T04:51:07","date_gmt":"2025-03-25T04:51:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peraltafinancing.com\/aerospace\/ge-aerospace-opens-state-of-the-art-mro-center-in-poland\/"},"modified":"2025-03-25T04:51:07","modified_gmt":"2025-03-25T04:51:07","slug":"ge-aerospace-opens-state-of-the-art-mro-center-in-poland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=155059","title":{"rendered":"GE Aerospace opens state-of-the-art MRO center in Poland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>GE Aerospace inaugurated its newest maintenance, repair and overhaul facility (MRO) in \u015aroda \u015al\u0105ska, located near the Polish city of Wroclaw, on March 24, 2025.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This new MRO center, called \u201cXEOS\u201d, is a joint venture (JV) between GE Aerospace and Lufthansa Technik, the MRO arm of the German airline group.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>XEOS focuses on the overhaul and repair of the LEAP engine series, both in its LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B versions, which power the A320neo and Boeing 737 MAX respectively.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"article-leaderboard bn-1\"\/>\n<p>The 35,000 square-meter facility provides ample space to\u00a0perform engine inspections and for engine and module assembly and disassembly. It also features a modern clean-and-inspect line, repair stations and an advanced test cell. \u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" title=\"XEOS outside\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"684\" src=\"https:\/\/www.aerotime.aero\/images\/2025\/03\/XEOS-outside-1200x684.jpg\" alt=\"GE Aerospace XEOS\" class=\"wp-image-118431\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.aerotime.aero\/images\/2025\/03\/XEOS-outside-1200x684.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.aerotime.aero\/images\/2025\/03\/XEOS-outside-300x171.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.aerotime.aero\/images\/2025\/03\/XEOS-outside-768x438.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.aerotime.aero\/images\/2025\/03\/XEOS-outside-1536x876.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.aerotime.aero\/images\/2025\/03\/XEOS-outside-380x217.jpg 380w, https:\/\/www.aerotime.aero\/images\/2025\/03\/XEOS-outside-800x456.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.aerotime.aero\/images\/2025\/03\/XEOS-outside-1160x662.jpg 1160w, https:\/\/www.aerotime.aero\/images\/2025\/03\/XEOS-outside-760x433.jpg 760w, https:\/\/www.aerotime.aero\/images\/2025\/03\/XEOS-outside-1600x913.jpg 1600w, https:\/\/www.aerotime.aero\/images\/2025\/03\/XEOS-outside-600x342.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.aerotime.aero\/images\/2025\/03\/XEOS-outside.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">GE Aerospace<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>GE Aerospace, which employs 250 professionals at XEOS, has highlighted, as well, the fact that the facility has its own engine training center. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are also focused on developing a skilled aerospace workforce in Poland, including investing in young talent through our Next Engineers program in Warsaw.\u201d stated Alan Kelly, general manager of LEAP services at GE Aerospace, in the press release announcing the opening of XEOS.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"article-leaderboard bn-2\"\/>\n<p>AeroTime contacted Kelly who said that the decision to make the XEOS facility a center for the servicing of LEAP engines was made based on the firm\u2019s experience operating in Poland, a country in which GE Aerospace has had a presence for over 30 years.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have achieved some remarkable things with the support of Polish engineering\u201d he said, before adding that GE Aerospace is building the capability to service all of its engine types currently in service at XEOS. He confirmed that in the future the Polish facility will also have the capacity to repair components.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is going to be one of our top facilities globally\u201d he added.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"article-leaderboard bn-3\"\/>\n<p>In this regard, Robert Burton, managing director of XEOS, confirmed to AeroTime on the same call that GE Aerospace is investing an additional $40 million in XEOS. This amount adds\u00a0to the initial $250 million investment outlay.
