How to create a custom list on WhatsApp<\/h2>\n

Before you begin creating a custom WhatsApp list on your iPhone, be sure to update the WhatsApp app to the latest version. Head to the App Store, tap the Apple Account icon in the top-right corner and check to see if WhatsApp has a pending update. If one exists, install it.<\/p>\n

Once you update WhatsApp, here\u2019s how you can create a custom chat list:<\/p>\n

  1. Open the WhatsApp<\/strong> app, swipe left on the list bar at the top of your inbox, and tap the +<\/strong> icon.<\/li>\n
  2. Give a name to your list. <\/li>\n
  3. Then, tap Add People or Groups<\/strong> at the bottom and select the conversations (people or group) you want to add to the list.<\/li>\n
  4. Tap Done<\/strong> in the top-right corner to save the list.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Alternatively, you can also create a custom WhatsApp chat list from the Settings. This is what that looks like:<\/p>\n

    1. In WhatsApp<\/strong>, tap the Settings<\/strong> tab at the bottom.<\/li>\n
    2. Select Lists<\/strong> and tap on Create a Custom List<\/strong> on the following page. From here, repeat the same process as mentioned above.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      You can also add a Communities<\/strong> chat list by selecting the preset chat list at the bottom. <\/p>\n

      How to manage custom lists on WhatsApp<\/h2>\n

      After you create a chat list, you can easily manage it: rename it, add\/remove conversations, change its order of appearance in the list bar, and more.<\/p>\n

      Rename a custom list on WhatsApp<\/h3>\n

      You can easily rename your custom chat list on WhatsApp at any time like this:<\/p>\n

      1. Tap and hold the list and select Edit<\/strong> from the menu.<\/li>\n
      2. Enter a new name in the List Name<\/strong> field and tap Done<\/strong> to confirm the changes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Add or remove contacts to a custom list<\/h3>\n

        If you no longer want to see conversations with a person in your custom list, you can easily remove them. Similarly, you can add conversations with new people to your custom WhatsApp list.<\/p>\n\n

        1. Long-press on your list and select Edit<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
        2. Tap on Add People or Groups<\/strong> if you want to add new people to your list. You will be asked to pick the contacts on the subsequent screen.<\/li>\n
        3. If you want to remove a contact, tap the \u2013<\/strong> icon to the left of their name and select Delete<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
        4. After making the changes, tap on Done<\/strong> to save the list.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Delete a custom WhatsApp list<\/h3>\n

          At any point in time, if you no longer want the custom chat list you just created, you can delete it. Simply long-press on the list and select Delete<\/strong> from the menu. Confirm the deletion by tapping the Delete<\/strong> button in the confirmation prompt.<\/p>\n

          Alternatively, go to Settings<\/strong> \u2192 Lists<\/strong>, select the custom list you want to delete, and tap Delete List<\/strong> at the bottom.<\/p>\n

          Change a custom list\u2019s order in the tab bar<\/h3>\n

          By default, the list bar in your inbox shows the Unread list. However, you can choose to reorder the list bar per your preference. Here\u2019s how.<\/p>\n

          1. Long-press on your any list in the list bar and select Reorder Lists<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
          2. Drag the chat list <\/strong>to your preferred position in the list bar. <\/li>\n
          3. Tap Done<\/strong> in the top-right corner to save the changes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
