{"id":151100,"date":"2025-03-23T05:57:09","date_gmt":"2025-03-23T05:57:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peraltafinancing.com\/business\/legal\/crypto-asset-service-providers-one-year-later\/"},"modified":"2025-03-23T05:57:09","modified_gmt":"2025-03-23T05:57:09","slug":"crypto-asset-service-providers-one-year-later","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=151100","title":{"rendered":"Crypto Asset Service Providers one year later"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">What services and oversight applies to Crypto Asset Service Providers?<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In simple terms, the above 7 entities can be distinguished between local and EEA CASP.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A Crypto Asset Service Providers can be classified in one of three ways however the most common service offered\u00a0 is that of acting as an exchange between (i) crypto-assets and fiat currency; (ii) crypto-assets; and\u00a0 (iii) <span>Management, transfer, holding and\/or safekeeping, including custody, of crypto-assets or cryptographic keys or means which allow the exercise of control over crypto-assets.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span><em>In other words . . . <\/em>a crypto exchange and crypto wallet. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span>BUT, if we consider CySEC\u2019s warning to heart, the oversight imposed on CASP mostly relates to Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Law along with other minor fit and proper tests. Meaning that the oversight imposed on other CySEC registered entities is discounted or\/and not applicable to CASP.\u00a0 So from a regulatory perspective CASPs are light work \u2026 or are they?\u00a0<\/span><span\/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What services and oversight applies to Crypto Asset Service Providers?
