While the hospitality sector was behind the tech industry (with 74% adoption), it was way ahead of not-for-profit, and health and social care sectors at 29% and 30% respectively.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Hospitality staff cite better productivity, reduced workloads and cost-savings as the top benefits of AI \u2013 but nearly two-fifths see it as a way to enhance customer experiences.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Top five benefits of AI according to hospitality professionals:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Employees are more productive (45%)<\/li>\n<li>Reduces workload (42%)<\/li>\n<li>Saves the business money (41%)<\/li>\n<li>Better customer service (39%)<\/li>\n<li>Helps people think outside the box (36%)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Generative AI tool, ChatGPT is the most popular application \u2013 used by nearly half of the respondents, and\u00a0three-quarters say it has reduced their stress levels. However, the survey also revealed some concerns, with 42% fearing it could replace people.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Champa Magesh, Managing Director \u2013\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theaccessgroup.com\/en-gb\/hospitality\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Access Hospitality<\/a>, said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHospitality is an inherently human industry \u2013 which might seem at odds with the rise of AI, but we know that the two can work hand-in-hand.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur survey found that 39% of hospitality staff see AI as a way to enhance customer service \u2013 the highest of any sector analysed, and well above the all-sector average of 29%.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAny efficiencies pub or restaurant groups can make, at both a head office and operational level, will free up staff to focus on delivering more personalised guest experiences. It\u2019s certainly not about replacing people, especially in a sector like hospitality which has experienced labour challenges for years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Marko Perisic, Chief Product and Engineering Officer at The Access Group, said that the adoption of AI in hospitality was positive \u2013 but added that employees must be given the right tools and training.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are so many AI tools out there, and hospitality employees are already using them in creative ways, such as developing content and using software to help their venue stand out and deliver that all-important personalised experience.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe know that there can also be downsides to AI if left unchecked so it\u2019s vital that companies choose vendors who understand the specific needs of the hospitality sector and who prioritise data security.
