Discovery may finally be selling the distribution rights for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comingsoon.net\/tag\/coyote-vs-acme\">Coyote vs. Acme<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comingsoon.net\/tag\/ketchup-entertainment\">Ketchup Entertainment<\/a>. The move comes after Warner Bros. decided to shelve the completed movie for a $30 million tax write-off rather than release it to the public.<\/p>\n<p>The Coyote vs. Acme deal is not finalized at this time, but the film is eying a 2026 theatrical release should it come to fruition.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-is-the-latest-update-about-warner-bros-and-looney-tunes\">What is the latest update about Warner Bros. and Looney Tunes?<\/h2>\n<p>According to Jeff Sneider\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theinsneider.com\/p\/coyote-vs-acme-ketchup-entertainment-warner-bros-may-sell-looney-tunes-franchise-locked-movie-review\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The InSneider<\/a>, Warner Bros. may be looking to rid themselves of Looney Tunes entirely.<\/p>\n<p>Sneider said, \u201cI\u2019m told that part of the reason WB decided to sell\u00a0Coyote vs. Acme\u00a0to Ketchup rather than take a tax credit a month before Tax Day (April 15) is because the studio is trying to\u00a0sell off\u00a0the\u00a0Looney Tunes\u00a0altogether.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s been no official comment on the matter from Warner Bros. at this time; however, it is worth noting that the original Looney Tunes animated shorts, which ran from 1930 through 1969, were recently taken off Max. <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/03\/original-looney-tunes-removed-max-warner-bros-1236327964\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Deadline<\/a> reported that the show is \u201cno longer viewed as a priority\u201d as \u201cthe streamer will prioritize adult and family programming.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other spin-off shows, such as the 2020\u2019s\u00a0Looney Tunes Cartoons, are still available to watch on the streaming platform at this time.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Coyote vs. Acme, Warner Bros. sold <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comingsoon.net\/tag\/the-day-the-earth-blew-up-a-looney-tunes-movie\">The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie<\/a> to Ketchup Entertainment following some internal restructuring in 2022. That movie was released in United States theaters on March 14, 2025.
