Reason Storms Piano Pulse Podcast In Fiery Defense Of Gigi Lamayne. The South African entertainment scene was set ablaze last night as Amapiano sensation and SA Hip-hop veteran Sizwe Alakine, better known to fans as Reason, made an unexpected and explosive appearance on the Piano Pulse Podcast.

The confrontation stemmed from comments made on a recent Piano Pulse episode, where Thakgi had cheekily opined that Reason’s shift from Lootlove—his baby mama and a celebrated TV personality—to Gigi Lamayne, the fierce lyricist known for her unapologetic style, was a step down in the romance department. The jab didn’t sit well with Reason, who wasted no time turning the podcast into his battleground. Sizwe Alakine rolled up to the studio with the energy of a man who’d heard enough.

The rapper stormed the studio to confront hosts Thakgi and Sfiso head-on after they aired controversial remarks suggesting he had “downgraded” in his romantic life by moving from his former partner, Lootlove, to his current flame, Gigi Lamayne. “So how did you quantify that my current girlfriend is a downgrade from my ex,” Sizwe calmly asked.

“What downgrade? What gives you the right to sit down and discuss another man’s relationship? What are you teaching these kids here? That oh yeah, if you’re a girl that looks like Gigi in the public perception, you’re a downgrade compared to a girl that looks like Luthando in the public perception?”

“Luthando works for the radio, Gigi doesn’t work for anybody, so forget about the public knowledge—let’s talk about your knowledge,” he said, his voice a mix of controlled fury and razor-sharp clarity. The hosts caught off guard, fumbled as Sizwe leaned into the mic, the room shrinking under his presence.

“Do you understand how problematic this is for you guys to come on a platform here and have an opinion with no facts?” he continued.

Thakgi, nonetheless, remained firm and defended his statement, maintaining that his comments reflected the general public’s viewpoint. “It was in comparison with what’s in the media and what we’ve seen,” he argued. But Reason firmly disagreed and was not having it.

“You’re trying to justify ish that has no basis. I didn’t come here to have a conversation. I came here to rectify you,” he declared

The confrontation, aired by a quick-thinking crew member, quickly became the talk of X. Fans praised Sizwe for standing up not just for Gigi, but for Lootlove too, his baby mama and a respected figure in her own right.

![""]("https://sahiphopmag.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Reason-1.png")
