My daughter is now 19 month old and eats everything!<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. When did you BLW with your baby?<\/strong><\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">We started BLW around 7-8 months old when my daughter showed all readiness signs in starting. She was able to sit up and feed herself. More information on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.babyledweaningideas.com\/babyledweaning\">readiness signs here<\/a>.<\/div>\n<p><strong>2. My\u00a0daughter\u2019s first foods were:<\/strong><\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Steamed pear, avocado, sweet potato, salmon and anything we ate as a family. We just watched our salt levels as we know that salt can be bad for a babies kidneys (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.babyledweaningideas.com\/salt-and-babies\/\">check out the post on salt and babies<\/a>). We made sure we did not add any salt to our family meals, we did it separately if we wanted some on our own meal.<\/div>\n<p><strong>3. Any tips for new BLW parents?<\/strong><\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Learn the difference between<a href=\"https:\/\/www.babyledweaningideas.com\/worried-about-choking\/\"> gagging and choking<\/a>, do a baby first aid course in the unlikely event of choking.<\/div>\n<p>Be cautious but don\u2019t freak out about choking, the gag reflex is pretty amazing AND don\u2019t overdo it with encouragement to eat. They will eat how much they want.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Any allergies or set backs in your journey?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>No allergies because I exposed her to the common allergy foods really early on when she started blw.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5. How old is your baby now and are they a good eater?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>My 19 month old eats anything and everything. Loves food!<\/p>\n<p>Here is a picture of my baby led weaner!
