Well that might look like a problem, but, relax we are about to solve that for you. First, lets give you the different types of (animal) farming systems<\/p>\n

  • Intensive system<\/li>\n
  • Semi-intensive system; and<\/li>\n
  • Extensive system<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    \nIntensive system<\/h3>\n

    \nAnimals reared in this system are kept in a confinement where feed, water, and medical attention are available for\/to the animals. This system has appeared to be one of the most efficient method of keeping most animals (except for some).<\/p>\n

    \nAdvantages of intensive system<\/h4>\n
    \n
      \n
    • Early maturation: Animals in this system reach market size early<\/li>\n
    • It allows for easy control of disease outbreak<\/li>\n
    • Sick animals can easily be detected and cull for proper medication<\/li>\n
    • No\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n
    • There risk of loosing animals to theft or predators<\/li>\n

      \nDisadvantages of intensive system<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n

      • \u00a0It allows for easy spreading of disease\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n

          \n
        • \u00a0It is not the best system for keeping ruminants such as sheep and goat<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n

          \nSemi-intensive system<\/h3>\n

          \nAs the name implies, this system falls between the intensive and extensive systems. In this system the animals are housed but they are still occasionally allowed to go out in search for food and water. It is also an efficient method and requires less capital as compared to the intensive system.<\/p>\n

          \nAdvantages of semi-intensive system<\/h4>\n
          \n
            \n
          • It requires less capital<\/li>\n
          • It is the best for keeping animals such as sheep and goat (tethering)\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            \nDisadvantages of semi-intensive system<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n
            \n<\/p>\n
          • It requires a lot of labour works<\/li>\n
          • It also allows for easy spread of diseases as animals are kept very close to themselves<\/li>\n<\/div>\n
          • There the risk of loosing animals to theft or predators<\/li>\n

            <\/p>\n

            \nExtensive system<\/h2>\n

            \nThis is the opposite of the intensive system. In this system the animals are allowed to go out in search for food, water etc. There are no special housing for the animals in this system, instead the find a place to stay for them selves which is usually under trees.<\/p>\n

            \nAdvantages of extensive system\u00a0<\/h4>\n
            \n
              \n
            • Animals reared in this system are more palatable<\/li>\n
            • The spread of diseases is very limited<\/li>\n
            • Animals reared in this system are more resistant to diseases<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              \nDisadvantages of extensive system<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n

              • Animals take a much longer time to reach market size<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
