Delivery is expected in December 2026 with entry into passenger service planned for spring 2027.<\/p>\n<p style=\"border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #545454; font-family: PublicSans, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 1.5rem; padding: 0px;\">The Greenlandic company\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ch-aviation.com\/news\/149701-air-greenland-seeks-a320neo-for-ilulissat-operations\" style=\"border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #c0272d; font-weight: 600; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-decoration-line: none; transition: 0.35s ease-in-out, height;\">intends to utilise the A320neo<\/a>\u00a0on the route between new\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ch-aviation.com\/airports\/1959\" style=\"border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #c0272d; font-weight: 600; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-decoration-line: none; transition: 0.35s ease-in-out, height;\">Ilulissat<\/a>\u00a0airport, due to open by the end of 2026, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ch-aviation.com\/airports\/1489\" style=\"border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #c0272d; font-weight: 600; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-decoration-line: none; transition: 0.35s ease-in-out, height;\">Copenhagen Kastrup<\/a>, complementing the service of the carrier&#8217;s bigger\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ch-aviation.com\/aircraft-variants\/A33080N\" style=\"border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #c0272d; font-weight: 600; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-decoration-line: none; transition: 0.35s ease-in-out, height;\">A330-800N<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #545454; font-family: PublicSans, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 1.5rem; padding: 0px;\">&#8220;The delivery time for new Airbus aircraft is currently six to seven years, so we have chosen to lease the aircraft to be ready when the new international airport in Ilulissat opens and to gain financial flexibility as the route is still new,&#8221; said Jacob Nitter S\u00f8rensen, chief executive of Air Greenland.<\/p>\n<p style=\"border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #545454; font-family: PublicSans, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 1.5rem; padding: 0px;\">The lease agreement with Carlyle runs for six years, but the airline will have an option to extend it further into the future. The Nuuk-based carrier revealed that the cockpit of the A320neo will be crewed mostly by A330neo pilots thanks to the commonalities between the two aircraft types.<\/p>\n<p style=\"border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #545454; font-family: PublicSans, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 1.5rem; padding: 0px;\">Air Greenland also plans to train some of its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ch-aviation.com\/airlines\/DHC\" style=\"border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #c0272d; font-weight: 600; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-decoration-line: none; transition: 0.35s ease-in-out, height;\">De Havilland Aircraft of Canada<\/a>\u00a0Dash 8 pilots for the A320neo operations. It further disclosed that maintenance on the new aircraft will be conducted in Copenhagen by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ch-aviation.com\/airlines\/SK\" style=\"border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #c0272d; font-weight: 600; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-decoration-line: none; transition: 0.35s ease-in-out, height;\">SAS Scandinavian Airlines<\/a>\u00a0where its A330 is also being serviced.<\/p>\n<p style=\"border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #545454; font-family: PublicSans, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">Air Greenland currently operates ten aircraft, according to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/prosubscription.ch-aviation.com\/fleets-advanced\/\" style=\"border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #c0272d; font-weight: 600; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-decoration-line: none; transition: 0.35s ease-in-out, height;\">ch-aviation fleets<\/a>\u00a0module. The bulk of its fleet consists of seven\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ch-aviation.com\/aircraft-variants\/DH8Q200\" style=\"border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #c0272d; font-weight: 600; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-decoration-line: none; transition: 0.35s ease-in-out, height;\">DHC-8-Q200<\/a>s and it also has one\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ch-aviation.com\/aircraft-variants\/DHC8200\" style=\"border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #c0272d; font-weight: 600; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-decoration-line: none; transition: 0.35s ease-in-out, height;\">DHC-8-200<\/a>\u00a0and one\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ch-aviation.com\/aircraft-variants\/HW800X2\" style=\"border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #c0272d; font-weight: 600; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-decoration-line: none; transition: 0.35s ease-in-out, height;\">Hawker 800XP(2)<\/a>. The Greenlandic airline recently\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ch-aviation.com\/news\/124666-air-greenland-retires-a330-200-moves-to-a330neo-ops\" style=\"border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #c0272d; font-weight: 600; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-decoration-line: none; transition: 0.35s ease-in-out, height;\">added the A330neo<\/a>\u00a0to its fleet, replacing a legacy\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ch-aviation.com\/aircraft-variants\/A330200\" style=\"border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #c0272d; font-weight: 600; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-decoration-line: none; transition: 0.35s ease-in-out, height;\">A330-200<\/a>. During\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ch-aviation.com\/news\/146090-air-greenland-adds-wet-leased-b737-capacity-from-2q25\" style=\"border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #c0272d; font-weight: 600; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-decoration-line: none; transition: 0.35s ease-in-out, height;\">the summer of 2025<\/a>, it will also wet-lease a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ch-aviation.com\/aircraft-variants\/B737800\" style=\"border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #c0272d; font-weight: 600; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-decoration-line: none; transition: 0.35s ease-in-out, height;\">B737-800<\/a>\u00a0from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ch-aviation.com\/airlines\/AI7\" style=\"border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; color: #c0272d; font-weight: 600; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-decoration-line: none; transition: 0.35s ease-in-out, height;\">Airseven<\/a>.
