Formed in 2013, this all-female Japanese band\u2014currently made up of Nao Minami, Kaede takashima, Hinako Ogami, and Emily Arima\u2014has taken the music world by storm with their unique mix of heavy guitar riffs, electronic beats, and dynamic vocals. With their high-octane live shows and anthemic anisongs, they\u2019ve built a dedicated fanbase both in Japan and internationally, and here they are to chat with us!<\/p>\n
Interview with PassCode<\/p>\n
I believe PassCode is a group that has been shaped by our live performances. Our desire to continually improve has driven our growth.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Starting from scratch, we\u2019ve cherished each and every live performance.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n I heard that our group\u2019s name was decided on a whim by our agency\u2019s president (laughs). We\u2019ve faced many challenges along the way, but we kept pushing forward because it would be a shame to lose a group like PassCode.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n I\u2019ve only been with the group for three of its ten years, but I think it\u2019s an amazing group! I want us to keep growing in the future.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Emily has great rhythm and pronunciation, and she\u2019s an artist who can deliver a stable performance in any environment. I think this really contributes to the overall consistency of PassCode\u2019s live shows. We\u2019ve grown together over time, and I feel like our appeal has only gotten stronger. Each member has a unique personality, but there\u2019s a strong sense of unity, which makes things interesting.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n I think the line between our work mode and our downtime has blurred in a good way, and that\u2019s what\u2019s pushing PassCode forward in a positive direction.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n I think we balance each other\u2019s strengths and weaknesses really well and complement each other perfectly. What\u2019s great is that everyone takes pride in the group and performs with genuine love for it. While we\u2019re all active and energetic on stage, offstage we tend to be a bit shy and quiet, which creates an interesting contrast (laughs).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n When we\u2019re in work mode, we\u2019re a group that really values live performances. But when we\u2019re off, we\u2019re like close friends\u2014almost like classmates.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

So, PassCode is a well-established band, with almost a decade on your backs and several hit songs, such as Kakegurui\u2019s \u201cIchikabachika.\u201d Can you tell us about the inspiration behind the group\u2019s name and concept, and how PassCode evolved over time?
