Developer and security researcher Lars Fröder released an updated build of his popular Dopamine jailbreak tool for certain iOS & iPadOS 15 and 16 devices on Saturday, officially bringing the tool up to version 2.4.3.

This update, according to the change log notes on the project’s GitHub page, fixes a bug relating to a regression present in version 2.4 and onward. Tihmstar is noted as one of the contributors to this update. The bug fix is as follows:

– Fix an issue where calling dlopen in a fork child would fail (on iOS 15) or crash the process (on iOS 16) (Fixes perl
crashing when running apt-file search
on iOS 16) [2.4 regression]

If you’re already a Dopamine jailbreak user, then updating to the latest version is easy. Simply open the Dopamine app on your jailbroken device, and when the “Update Available” button appears, tap it and you can follow the prompts to update over the air without a computer or any other complicated steps.

Prospective Dopamine jailbreak users should begin their jailbreak journey with the latest version at the time of their jailbreaking, which at this time, would be version 2.4.3. We recommend this because we want all new jailbreakers to have as bug-free of a user experience as possible.

The Dopamine jailbreak is semi-untethered by nature, but it can be perma-signed with the TrollStore utility for what feels like a permanent jailbreak experience without the need to ever use a computer. While you will have to re-jailbreak after each reboot, you won’t ever need to re-sign the Dopamine jailbreak app, which is highly convenient.

If you’ve never used the Dopamine jailbreak before, and you’re interested in doing so, please first check to see if you have a compatible device. The following devices can be jailbroken with Dopamine:
