The film is a hit with critics, earning a score of 87% on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rottentomatoes.com\/m\/the_day_the_earth_blew_up_a_looney_tunes_movie\">Rotten Tomatoes<\/a>. A popular theme in the reviews is the filmmakers did right by the characters, even if the studio hasn\u2019t: \u201c[puts] a modern spin on a classic formula in a way that makes you wonder why we ever left it behind\u201d, \u201ca reminder of how much more these tireless characters have to offer\u201d, \u201ca fine successor in its own right\u201d, \u201ca shame that the folks at Warner Bros. didn\u2019t honor their past but instead declined to release the film\u201d. A fifth place finish at the weekend box office with about a $3 million seems to be the consensus from <a href=\"https:\/\/boxofficetheory.com\/box-office-weekend-forecast-novocaine-and-black-bag-headline-the-openers-mickey-17-hopes-to-retain-1-on-another-slow-early-spring-frame\/\">Box Office Theory<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.boxofficereport.com\/predictions\/predictions20250313.html\">BoxOfficeReport<\/a>.
