We love that there\u2019s always something new to discover in the Columbus dining scene \u2013 even if it\u2019s just new to us. Thanks to Andy, Bethia, and Erin of the Columbus Foodletter<\/a> (which you should absolutely subscribe to), we were finally nudged to visit Taqueria Guadalajara, a very-easy-to-love Mexican eatery on the northeast side just off Cleveland Avenue.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve probably been driving by it for years, but we\u2019re glad we finally made our way in. In the space of one week we\u2019ve visited two times, and we think this may be one of our favorite go-tos for Mexican food.<\/p>\n

When you enter the two-room storefront, you\u2019ll see a counter with digital menus prominently displayed above it. They list their featured dishes with great color photos; dishes will sometimes cycle through, but it\u2019s pretty easy to get a grasp of the menu.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re dining in, they\u2019ll assign you a table number in one of the two rooms, so after you order and pay, you can find your seat and your meal will come out quickly.<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"<\/figure>\n

We\u2019ve managed to try a half dozen dishes over our two visits, and haven\u2019t found a weak link yet. I can highly recommend the torta de birria<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The chimichangas<\/strong> have been a big hit as well.<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"<\/figure>\n

Even the sides of refried beans and rice at Guadalajara are wonderfully seasoned. At too many restaurants these are a complete throwaway, but they\u2019d make a wonderful meal all on their own.<\/p>\n

Big props to the burritos<\/strong> as well.<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"<\/figure>\n

The asada burrito<\/strong> is particularly good.<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"<\/figure>\n

And on the recommendation of the Columbus Foodletter crew, we\u2019ve come to love the asada plate<\/strong> as well. The meat is perfectly seasoned and grilled.<\/p>\n

The folks at Taqueria Guadalajara are friendly, the food is excellent. It\u2019s definitely in the permanent rotation.<\/p>\n

Taqueria Guadalajara is open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. (except Sundays when they open at 11 a.m.)<\/p>\n
