Comments on the information collection are due May 5.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CBP officers <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbp.gov\/newsroom\/local-media-release\/dulles-cbp-officers-seize-over-52k-unreported-currency-two-separate\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">seized<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> more than $52,000 in unreported currency during two separate seizures at Washington Dulles International Airport.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Administration<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On March 4, new tariffs went into effect on imports from:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">China: 20%<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mexico: 25%<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Canada: 25%<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Federal register notices available here (<\/span><a style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mexico<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/public-inspection.federalregister.gov\/2025-02293.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">China<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Administration <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2025\/03\/05\/business\/tariffs-autos-mexico-canada-paused\/index.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">announced<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> an <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">exemption on auto tariffs on Mexico and Canada for one month.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On March 2, President Trump issued executive orders that postpone the removal of de minimis for <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/03\/amendment-to-duties-to-address-the-flow-of-illicit-drugs-across-our-northern-border\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Canada<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/03\/amendment-to-duties-to-address-the-situation-at-our-southern-border\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mexico<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">President Trump signed an<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/03\/addressing-the-threat-to-national-security-from-imports-of-timber-lumber\/\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">executive order<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> directing the Commerce Department to investigate whether the importation of lumber, wooden cabinets, wooden furniture and paper pose a threat to national security under Section 232.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">President Trump stated in a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/114105388432604284\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Truth Social post<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that if Canada puts a retaliatory tariff on the U.S., the U.S. reciprocal tariff will immediately increase by a like amount.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>U.S. Department of Commerce<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Commerce released two federal register notices (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalregister.gov\/documents\/2025\/03\/05\/2025-03598\/implementation-of-duties-on-steel-pursuant-to-proclamation-10896-adjusting-imports-of-steel-into-the\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">steel<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalregister.gov\/documents\/2025\/03\/05\/2025-03596\/implementation-of-duties-on-aluminum-pursuant-to-proclamation-10895-adjusting-imports-of-aluminum\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">aluminum<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) detailing tariff subheadings to be used for the expanded Section 232 tariffs.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">OFAC <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/home.treasury.gov\/news\/press-releases\/sb0041\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">announced<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the agency is taking action against seven high-ranking members of Ansarallah, commonly known as the Houthis for smuggling military-grade items and weapon systems into Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">OFAC <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/home.treasury.gov\/news\/press-releases\/sb0042\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">announced<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> sanctions against a Shanghai-based malicious cyber actor and data broker, and his company that allegedly acquired, brokered, and sold data from highly sensitive U.S. critical infrastructure networks.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>World Trade Organization (WTO)<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Canada <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wto.org\/english\/news_e\/news25_e\/dsrfc_05mar25_e.htm\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">has requested<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> WTO dispute consultations with the United States regarding new tariff measures applied by the United States on goods originating in Canada.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">China has <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wto.org\/english\/news_e\/news25_e\/ds633oth_05mar25_e.htm\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">submitted<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a revised request for dispute settlement consultations with the United States to address new US tariff measures applied on goods originating in China.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">WTO <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wto.org\/english\/news_e\/news25_e\/tar_04mar25_e.htm\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">launched<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> WTO Tariff &amp; Trade Data, an online platform providing enhanced access to official tariff and trade figures for over 150 economies.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>United States Trade Representative (USTR)<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reminder: Comments in USTR\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalregister.gov\/documents\/2025\/02\/25\/2025-03047\/request-for-comments-to-assist-in-reviewing-and-identifying-unfair-trade-practices-and-initiating\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">proceeding<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to review unfair trade actions and harm from non-reciprocal trade arrangements is due March 11.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">USTR <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ustr.gov\/about-us\/policy-offices\/press-office\/press-releases\/2025\/march\/us-trade-representative-announces-2025-trade-policy-agenda\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">released<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the 2025 Trade Policy Agenda and the 2024 Annual Report. The reports include President Trump\u2019s 2025 trade agenda, and a summary of current USTR initiatives including enforcement initiatives.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>U.S. Department of Treasury<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Treasury Department <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/home.treasury.gov\/news\/press-releases\/sb0038\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">announced<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that the agency is suspending enforcement of the BOI requirements under the Corporate Transparency Act. The Act requires an estimated 30 million businesses to file Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) with the Treasury Department.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Congress<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Three senators introduced a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.warner.senate.gov\/public\/index.cfm\/pressreleases?id=19C533A9-0A5E-4CD4-BD5E-307301A09186\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">resolution<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that would end the emergency that President Trump declared on the northern border. If successful, the resolution would terminate the newly implemented tariffs on Canadian goods.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">House Ways and Means Trade Subcommittee Ranking Member Linda T.
