Makes: 12 large biscuits<\/span><\/span><\/p>\nPreheat oven to 450 degrees<\/span><\/span>
6 \u00be cups all purpose flour<\/span><\/span>
4 \u00bd teaspoons baking powder<\/span><\/span>
2 tsp salt<\/span><\/span>
2 tsp baking soda<\/span><\/span>
8 oz butter stick cut into small cubes<\/span><\/span>
2 oz lard stick cut into small cubes<\/span><\/span><\/p>\nMix dry ingredients in a large bowl. \u00a0Add butter and lard with the flour mixture into a food processor and process until the butter and lard is the <\/span>size of peas<\/span> <\/span>(you will need to split this into 3rds to accommodate the size of your food processor).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\nPour the processed mixture into a large mixing bowl. \u00a0Cut 2 \u00bd cups of buttermilk into the dry into the dry ingredients.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\nFold the dough 4 times (layering it). \u00a0Cut into 12 even square biscuits. Brush with egg- wash. \u00a0Keep cold until ready to bake.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n*<\/span>It is very important not to add extra flour<\/span><\/span><\/p>\nPut into preheated 450 degree oven then turn down to 350 degrees right away for 20-25 minutes. \u00a0Bake until golden brown and the center is no longer raw.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\u200b<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
