February wasn\u2019t such a great month:<\/p>\n

1 \u2013 I caught the lurgy that\u2019s been going around. It dragged on for over 2 weeks, not quite bad enough for me to be bed-ridden or take time off work but bad enough that I didn\u2019t feel like leaving the house at all as the cold weather just made me feel worse.<\/p>\n

2 \u2013 My fridge-freezer broke down. Fortunately it was when I was feeling better so I was able to drop food off at my sister\u2019s and had a big enough appetite to eat a lot of food! The cold weather came in handy as milk etc was fine in my shed but I was sad to have to throw some food away.<\/p>\n

Still, it wasn\u2019t all bad:<\/p>\n

1 \u2013 my new fridge freezer arrived quickly and is a lot quieter than the old one (I hadn\u2019t noticed before). It\u2019s still half empty however, I\u2019ve not gotten around to refilling it so need to get going with my batched cooking again! Rather than dip into my emergency fund for this purchase, I\u2019ve gone for 3 affordable interest free payments with Klarna.<\/p>\n

2 \u2013 I received one of the employee of the month awards so got \u00a350 Amazon vouchers \u2013 yay! Sadly, I was not one of the lucky hard-working ones who won a trip to Vegas! Maybe next year!<\/p>\n

3 \u2013 attended another enjoyable FIRE pub meet. It\u2019s always good catching up with old friends and meeting new ones.<\/p>\n

Anyway, how did my numbers look for Feb?<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I saved 24.6%<\/strong> of my net salary.\u00a0 The above includes \u00a348.44<\/strong> from doing Prolific surveys.<\/p>\n

Shares and Investment Trusts<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

No new investments, I just topped up existing ones.<\/p>\n

The beginnings of a wobble didn\u2019t do too much to my portfolio and my FF remained pretty much flat as a result, at \u00a3304,331.51 <\/strong>by the end of the month. March is looking decidedly shaky however, so let\u2019s see how that pans out over the next few weeks.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Dividends and Other Income<\/strong><\/p>\n

A decent month for dividends:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

I received \u00a3423.12<\/strong>, of which \u00a3277.43 <\/strong>was from my ISAs, the rest from my SIPPs. All dividends were reinvested.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m particularly impressed (myself) at my emergency top ups although part of me does think I should be investing that money but topping up is long overdue!<\/p>\n

The classic book I read? \u2018Jane Eyre\u2019 by Charlotte Bront\u00eb. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it and how easy it was to read!<\/p>\n

Options Options<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

This month, I finally achieved my options trading goal of doubling my money.<\/strong> It\u2019s taken me just over 2 years.<\/p>\n

I opened my live account with \u00a31k capital and today, my IG balance stands at \u00a32,015<\/strong>. Go me!<\/p>\n

What now? I will continue with my strategy but will start making withdrawals of any profit I make (probably to put in my ISA). At some point, I hope to have withdrawn all my initial capital so I will be playing with pure profit.<\/p>\n

The gains aren\u2019t ground breaking, I\u2019m making on average \u00a330<\/strong> a month from trading, but could I scale this up to make some meaningful (and realistic) income, like say \u00a3100 a month?<\/p>\n

I would need a much bigger pot to play with, place a lot more trades and also need to be \u2018on it\u2019 with trade notifications and what\u2019s happening with the market.<\/p>\n

Note, I am so nowhere there yet! I will check my app when I get a notification and I might close a trade if I get the chance to. However, I don\u2019t like opening trades on my phone so am slow to take advantage of market volatility.<\/p>\n

Anyway, I\u2019m happy just to make this a fun thing to do, although current wobbly markets aren\u2019t looking great for my March trades!<\/p>\n

What Else?<\/strong><\/p>\n
