This post has been sponsored by Gerber. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

There are two types of people in this world. Those that love shopping for baby showers, and those that loathe it. I must admit that I proudly pledge my allegiance to the “love it” camp! Gifting a curated collection of my favorite mama, baby and toddler items to a mom-to-be that I adore is my favorite way to share in their excitement. !["First]("https://projectnursery.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Gerber-Cereal-for-Project-Nursery-0187.jpg" ""First")

Baby shower gifts tend to be all about newborn babies. Travel gear, tiny clothing and nursing necessities all focused on those first few weeks and months of life. That’s wonderful! But how about some love for the later months? Together with Gerber® Infant Cereals we are wrapping up a baby shower gift idea that the mom-to-be in your life will thank you for months and months to come! But first? A trip to Target to grab the essentials!

No need for a separate shopping trip or an overload of all things baby. Slide into Target’s baby section, and you can create a super original baby shower gift in no time—just watch!

We’re building our first foods gift set beginning with the Gerber® line of cereals. Choose one or two of their infant and toddler cereals and you’ll equip the mom-to-be with foods perfect from ages 4 to 12 months. That’s a gift that keeps on giving! Their infant cereals feature ingredients, including iron, that support babies ages 4 to 12 months. In fact, just two servings of infant cereal meet 90% of baby’s daily iron requirements. Look at you, Mom!

Don’t stop at baby—remember, we’re making our baby shower gift last! Pop a package or two of Gerber infant cereal for 6-12 month olds in your first feeding gift set to help boost healthy bones and teeth and to provide little ones with a nutritional blend of Zinc, Iron, Calcium, Vitamin C, Vitamin E and six B vitamins. There are lots of fun flavors to choose from in the Gerber® line, so take advantage of the variety. We chose a MultiGrain Cereal, a favorite staple, and a Lil’ Bits® Cereal that has additional flavor and texture already added in.

Introducing solid food for the first time can be stressful for a new mom. I would’ve loved having the guesswork taken out of the equation for me by a mom friend that I could trust. Including non-GMO and artificial color- and flavor-free Gerber® infant cereal in your gift shows that you care about the health and wellness of your friend’s new baby. Who can say no to a trusted recommendation from a veteran mom BFF?

We filled out our DIY first foods baby shower gift set with some feeding favorites like roll-up bibs, tiny storage containers, an assortment of spoons and forks, and shatter-proof plates and bowls. My favorite feeding hack is that reusable gift bag we used! Grab a shower caddy bag from the travel section at Target and pack it full with the feeding necessities. When your mom-to-be friend gives you a confused look, let her in on our favorite feeding DIY storage trick. Keep this bag full of wipes, bibs, bowls and spoons, then use a temporary hook to hang the bag on the back of your high chair. You’ll never be without the essentials no matter how many times your little one tosses items to the floor!

This is a baby shower after all so we had to make our baby’s first foods gift set as cute as can be! Create or buy mini garland, mini tassels, and cute tags to decorate your bag in trendy baby style. Even a strip of cute tape can make all the difference to an easy DIY gift tag.
