Apple is teaming up with Metallica<\/a> to launch a new immersive concert experience, exclusively for Apple Vision Pro<\/a>, starting March 14.<\/p>\n

Filmed during Metallica\u2019s sold-out M72 World Tour finale in Mexico City, the concert features full performances of iconic hits like \u201cWhiplash,\u201d \u201cOne,\u201d and \u201cEnter Sandman.\u201d The experience was captured in Apple Immersive Video, offering ultra-high-resolution 180-degree visuals and Spatial Audio, putting viewers right in the middle of the action \u2014 from the stage\u2019s Snake Pit to wide-angle views of the stadium.<\/p>\n

Fans can preview the experience at Apple Store locations by booking a demo. Metallica is also releasing a new EP, M72 World Tour: Mexico City, available in Spatial Audio on Apple Music the same day.<\/p>\n

\u201cGame changing is putting it lightly,\u201d said Lars Ulrich of Metallica in a statement. \u201cSeeing our concert like that, along with the energy of the Mexico City fans \u2014 it\u2019s very immersive, and it\u2019s super fun. We\u2019ve always been interested in pushing the boundaries, and Metallica on Apple Vision Pro is exactly that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cApple Immersive Video transforms the way people experience storytelling, and we\u2019re thrilled to collaborate with Metallica on a concert unlike any before it,\u201d said Tor Myhren, Apple\u2019s vice president of Marketing Communications. \u201cWith Metallica on Apple Vision Pro, you feel like you\u2019re right there: front row, backstage, and even on stage with one of the biggest bands of all time.\u201d<\/p>\n

This experience<\/a> is part of Apple\u2019s growing lineup of immersive content, such as VIP: Yankee Stadium on April 4 and Bono: Stories of Surrender, coming on May 30.<\/p>\n

Now, of course you\u2019ll need a Vision Pro headset to experience this, so just round up $4,995 CAD<\/a> and you\u2019ll be good to go. You may be better off spending $5K on front row tickets to the next Metallica concert for an even better real-life experience.<\/p>\n
