The same corporations that profit from bombing a country often profit from rebuilding it. Wars\u2014both foreign and domestic\u2014are often used as <strong>excuses to erode civil liberties, expand surveillance, and militarize police forces.<\/strong> Governments that claim to fight for democracy abroad often use the same wars to restrict democracy at home.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Maintaining Global Hierarchies:<\/strong> War isn\u2019t just about nations fighting each other\u2014it\u2019s about maintaining the power structures that benefit the ruling elite. It is incentivized.
