{"id":126219,"date":"2025-03-11T11:57:54","date_gmt":"2025-03-11T11:57:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peraltafinancing.com\/aerospace\/brazil-suspends-all-voepass-flights-over-safety-concerns\/"},"modified":"2025-03-11T11:57:54","modified_gmt":"2025-03-11T11:57:54","slug":"brazil-suspends-all-voepass-flights-over-safety-concerns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=126219","title":{"rendered":"Brazil suspends all Voepass flights over safety concerns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil (ANAC) has suspended all Voepass Linhas A\u00e9reas flight operations as a precautionary measure over safety concerns.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On March 11, 2025, ANAC announced that the Sao Paulo-based airline would be unable to fly until the carrier \u201cproves its ability to guarantee the level of safety provided for in the current civil aviation regulations\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe decision, on a precautionary basis, was due to Voepass\u2019 inability to solve irregularities identified in the inspections carried out by the Agency, as well as the non-compliance with established operating conditions,\u201d said ANAC in a statement.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"article-leaderboard bn-1\"\/>\n<p>A spokesperson for Voepass confirmed to AeroTime that it had received notification about the suspension from ANAC and has begun \u201cinternal negotiations to demonstrate, as requested, its ability to guarantee the levels of safety required by the regulatory agency\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In a statement the airline said: \u201cThe company reiterates that its fleet in operation is airworthy and able to carry out flights following the strict requirements of safety standards. This decision has an immeasurable impact on thousands of Brazilians who use regional aviation every day and rely on its service, so it will put all its efforts to resume the operation as soon as possible.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>ANAC highlighted problems with Voepass\u2019 management systems and the carrier\u2019s \u201cinability to resolve irregularities identified during the supervision carried out by the agency\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"article-leaderboard bn-2\"\/>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aerotime.aero\/articles\/plane-crash-atr-sao-paulo-voepass-brazil\" title=\"\">Voepass ATR 72-500 turboprop crashed<\/a> on August 9, 2024, killing 62 people while flying between Regional West Airport (CAC) in Cascavel and S\u00e3o Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport (GRU).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>ANAC said that following the crash inspections were carried out at Voepass facilities to \u201cverify the conditions necessary to guarantee an adequate level of operational safety\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn October 2024, Anac required measures such as reducing the network, increasing aircraft ground time for maintenance, changing administrators and implementing the action plan to correct irregularities,\u201d the agency said in its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.br\/anac\/pt-br\/assuntos\/voepass-suspensao\" title=\"\">statement<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"article-leaderboard bn-3\"\/>\n<p>Following further checks in February 2025, ANAC identified \u201csystematic non-compliance with the requirements made by the Agency\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFurthermore, it was found that irregularities identified and considered to have been remedied by the Agency in previous surveillance and inspection actions had recurred, as well as the lack of effectiveness of the corrective action plan,\u201d said ANAC.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The agency added: \u201cThere was thus a breach of trust in the company\u2019s internal processes due to evidence that Voepass\u2019 systems had lost the capacity to respond to the identification and correction of risks in air operations.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Voepass currently operates a fleet of six aircraft across 15 destinations.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"cnvs-block-posts cnvs-block-posts-1741692076803
