When we bought our
\ncamping tent, hanging camping lanterns from the ceiling of a tent
\nwere not a thing like it is now. At night, we\u2019d light a <\/b><\/span>LED camping lantern similar to this one<\/b><\/span><\/a> and put it on a bedside table (that is actually a folding stool like this one<\/span><\/b><\/a> ) to light the inside of the tent.
\nThere was plenty of light but there were also plenty of dark corners,
\nthat we\u2019d supplement by wearing a headlamp (I have this rechargeable LED headlamp<\/span><\/a><\/b>. It\u2019s nice because I can recharge it using a phone battery bank if
\nneeded.) (Disclosure: I am including affiliate links in this post for

It’s not practical
\nto buy a new tent just for a hanging loop. Especially since we got a
\nkiller end of summer deal on a tent that is bigger, nicer, and
\ncheaper than what we originally planned to buy at the time. It stays.<\/p>\n

I accidentally came
\nup with my tent lighting hack the night I was searching for something
\nin our semi lit tent. In frustration I took off my headlamp, held it
\nabove my head, and was surprised by how well that tiny light lit the
\nentire tent by changing its placement.\n<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

I still needed two
\nhands to continue my search and grabbed the beach towel clamp (a
\nbeach towel clamp looks like this<\/span><\/b><\/a> ) I use
\nsecure our trash bag to a camp table and used it to carefully clip
\nthe headlight by its strap to the area where the seams meet in the
\ncenter ceiling of our tent. It worked!<\/p>\n

The next day I
\nclipped one of these handheld LED work lights<\/b><\/span><\/a> <\/b><\/span>that we like to use instead of traditional flashlights to the ceiling
\nseams by its hanging hook to test if it was light enough to hang
\nwithout falling down. It worked and it was easier to leave it hanging
\nduring the trip than a headlamp.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not a cheesy
\nlooking quick fix I made on the fly with duct tape and twine when the
\nhanging hook broke. It is a rustic glamping<\/b> tent chandelier.
\n *smirk*<\/i><\/p>\n

Later that summer, I
\nhanded sewed a loop of bias tape to ceiling seams I use to clip the
\nhandheld work light and applied this exact tent seam sealer<\/span><\/b><\/a> both
\nside of the seams and loop to keep it water tight. Sewing a hanging
\nloop to the ceiling of the tent now gives me more options on what
\nlight weight items I can hang.<\/p>\n
