Do you know that scene in Gladiator <\/strong><\/em>where Russell Crowe\u2019s character, Maximus, yells to the crowd,\u00a0\u201cAre you not entertained?!<\/em><\/span>\u201d<\/em>\u00a0<\/p>\n

I\u2019m more interested in Maximus\u2019s next<\/em> line:\u00a0 \u201cIs this not why you are here?!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

You see, the audience came to see violence and death. Specifically, the plan was for a bunch of local gladiators (heavily armored, fully armed) to kill some foreign slaves (including Maximus). But because Maximus is the protagonist<\/s> a trained Roman legionaire, he turned the tables on the local gladiators, killing all of them single-handedly.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The crowd, caught off-guard, went silent, thus queuing up the immortal lines, \u201cAre you not entertained?! Is this not why you are here?!\u201d<\/em> Maximus also throws a sword at the box seats. Power move. <\/p>\n

The audience came to see violence and death. They just hadn\u2019t expected it could be delivered in that way.\u00a0<\/p>\n
