Estos eran tiempos interesantes en la que la reciente liberalizaci\u00f3n del espacio a\u00e9reo abr\u00eda la competencia a empresas privadas frente al tradicional monopolio de las aerol\u00edneas estatales. Air Europa, que ya ten\u00eda unos a\u00f1os como empresa exclusivamente charter, se lanzaba al mercado dom\u00e9stico y hac\u00eda mucho hincapi\u00e9 en su oferta con mejores precios y un servicio mejor, adem\u00e1s de su propia clase Preferente<\/i> (como la llamaba entonces Iberia), Clase Club<\/i>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

These were interesting times when the recent liberalisation of airspace opened up competition for private companies as an alternative to the traditional State-owned airline monopoly. Air Europa, which had already been a charter-only company for a few years, was launching itself into the domestic market and was putting a lot of emphasis on its offer with better prices and better service, as well as its own <\/i>Clase Preferente (as Iberia called it at the time) Business class , <\/i>Clase Club.\u00a0<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

Air Europa entraba tambi\u00e9n en el muy competitivo y (entonces, cuando el tren de alta velocidad no exist\u00eda y faltaban muchos a\u00f1os para que lo hiciera) lucrativo mercado del Puente A\u00e9reo<\/i><\/b> entre Madrid y Barcelona.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Esta es una marca que Iberia intent\u00f3 mantener como exclusivamente suya, y por esta raz\u00f3n en este folleto se insiste en que el servicio que se ofrecia era el de un aut\u00e9ntico (l\u00e9ase igual al que ofrec\u00eda IB) puente a\u00e9reo en el que se pod\u00eda llegar al avi\u00f3n y embarcar sin reserva previa.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Air Europa was also entering the very competitive and (at the time, when the high-speed train did not exist and was still many years away) profitable market of the <\/i>Puente A\u00e9reo<\/b> Air Shuttle between Madrid and Barcelona.\u00a0<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n
