Gotta love the sweet savory goodness of a bacon wrapped fig. Well, this takes it in another direction, adding a little creamy spiciness of a jalape\u00f1o popper. Sweet savory and a little spicy – you really can\u2019t go wrong with a Pig Newton<\/p>\n

Pig Newtons<\/h2>\n

fig Newton topped with cream cheese, jalape\u00f1o and wrapped with bacon. <\/span><\/p>\n

  • 1<\/span> pack<\/span> fig newtons<\/span><\/li>\n
  • 1.5<\/span> lb<\/span> bacon<\/span><\/li>\n
  • 8<\/span> oz<\/span> cream cheese<\/span><\/li>\n
  • 6<\/span> whole<\/span> jalapenos<\/span><\/li>\n
  • 1<\/span> tbsp<\/span> bbq rub<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

      Core jalape\u00f1os and cut into either diagonal rings or \u00bd\u201d thick strips<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Add a schmear of cream cheese to the top of each fig newton<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Place slice of jalape\u00f1o on cream cheese <\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Wrap each Newton with a \u00bd slice of bacon. I found that it works best to have the figgy side of the Newton facing out. Helps preserve the structural integrity of the Newton. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      place wrapped Newtons on greased grill grate. I like to use either a greased metal mesh grate on top of a regular grate or a silicone mesh grate to make removal of the cookies easier. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      Cook at 350F indirect for approximately 30 minutes, until the bacon looks good (dark\/crisp)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      Another eggfest all star born from a hungry trip to the grocery store. \u00a0They were out of nutter butters, so I thought about what else would taste good wrapped in bacon.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
