We filled our \u201ccoolship\u201d with hot wort, open the windows and let nature do its work: spontaneous inoculation, leading to delicious beer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHAT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>30 barrels (that\u2019s 910 gallons) of steaming wort, the liquid building block of beer- clocking in at over 200 degrees Fahrenheit.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/d3k81ch9hvuctc.cloudfront.net\/company\/YbAnRx\/images\/b7134a63-34af-4e67-a008-ecc5b355d054.jpeg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n<p><strong>WHERE<\/strong><br \/>The Crunkship, our massive (12 foot by 10 foot by 1.5 feet deep) open-topped stainless steel vessel, at Monday Night Garage in Atlanta\u2019s West End.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SO WHAT HAPPENS?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On one of the coldest nights of the Winter, we pump the hot wort into the Crunkship and pull in fresh cold air. The aerated wort meets the cold air to create massive clouds steam and condensation, combining with the city\u2019s wild yeast and micro-flora. Then this inoculated liquid is fermented and aged in neutral wine barrels.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CAN I DRINK IT?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yeah\u2026 eventually.<\/p>\n<p>This\u00a0Methode Traditionelle\u00a0beer is the passion project of blending different generations of this beer from past years and aging it in barrels. <\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s brew will be blended with 2023 and 2022 batches then bottle conditioned for an additional year, ultimately released in 2027.
