Coinbase co-founder and CEO Brian Armstrong believes the US crypto strategic reserve recently announced by President Donald Trump should exclusively consist of Bitcoin (BTC<\/a>).<\/p>\n On the social media platform X, Armstrong says<\/a> having \u201cjust Bitcoin\u201d in the US crypto strategic reserve \u201cwould probably be the best option.\u201d<\/p>\n According to the Coinbase CEO, Bitcoin comes with the \u201csimplest and [clearest] story as successor to gold\u201d relative to other crypto assets.<\/p>\n \u201cIf folks wanted more variety, you could do a market-cap-weighted index of crypto assets to keep it unbiased.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n On Sunday, President Trump confirmed<\/a> that the US will set up a \u201ccrypto strategic reserve\u201d consisting of Bitcoin, Ethereum (ETH<\/a>), XRP<\/a>, Solana (SOL<\/a>) and Cardano (ADA<\/a>). Trump said that the reserve will help \u201celevate\u201d the crypto industry while promising to ensure the US becomes the \u201ccrypto capital of the world.\u201d<\/p>\n According to the White House artificial intelligence and crypto czar David Sacks, more<\/a> information on the US Crypto Strategic Reserve will be provided during the upcoming White House Crypto Summit slated<\/a> for March 7th.<\/p>\n Amid Armstrong\u2019s position that Bitcoin should be the only digital asset in the US crypto strategic reserve, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse says<\/a> he\u2019s glad that Trump recognizes that \u201cwe live in a multichain world.\u201d<\/p>\n While noting that \u201c[Bitcoin] maximalism is the enemy of the [crypto] industry\u2019s progress,\u201d Garlinghouse says he will continue to champion multichain-friendly policies in Washington.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve said this before \u2013 the crypto industry will achieve our goals (and beyond) IF WE WORK TOGETHER.
