Carnival and other mainstream cruise lines are not known for offering tons of healthy dining options because most cruise passengers admit they want to indulge on vacation. <\/p>\n

But as demand for more healthy food choices increases on land, is it rising at sea too? That\u2019s what Carnival Cruise Line brand ambassador John Heald wants to know. <\/p>\n

Heald, who admits he\u2019s more into cruise comfort food than salads, recently shared a message he received regarding Carnival\u2019s lunch salad selections on his popular Facebook page. <\/p>\n

\u201cWriting about salads John even though you have never seen one LOL,\u201d the unidentified passenger joked. \u201cA salad is a regular, healthy meal. Salads are tasty, and full of nutrients John. Try it just once.\u201d<\/p>\n

After poking fun at the beloved brand ambassador, the passenger explained the reason for her salad message.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know Carnival is all about the burger but I just sailed on the Vista, loved the ship, loved the salad for lunch were the same salad choices that were served all week long. I didn’t mind but DH was on his first cruise and frankly thought it was fairly strange,\u201d the passenger wrote. <\/p>\n

\u201cInterchange the salad items with new offerings every day,\u201d the passenger requested. \u201cThose of us who support a healthy lifestyle would appreciate it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Carnival offers many different types of comfort cuisine on board, including pizza, but some customers are asking for more healthier options, including additions to the salad bar.<\/p>\n

In the post, Heald also shared his own take on salads, as a non-expert and notorious jokester, of course. <\/p>\n

\u201cThank you and this lovely lady has made an interesting point. Do we have enough salad choices? As she so kindly mentions, I am not a salad expert,\u201d Heald said. \u201cHowever, I did notice on the Carnival Magic last week there was a chicken staring at the lido buffet. It was a chicken sees a salad.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cAnyway, your salad thoughts please,\u201d Heald wrote as he opened the post for passenger comments. <\/p>\n

The comments on the post make it obvious that most Carnival cruise passengers lean more toward comfort food on their cruise vacations. Some did agree that they\u2019d like to see additional options or variety added to the salad bar though. <\/p>\n

\u201cDespite her comment that Carnival is “all about the burger” I have seen crowds of people anxiously waiting for Guys Burgers to open… never seen a group of impatient cruisers circling the salad bar waiting for it to open,\u201d Dave McCulloch noted. <\/p>\n

Most cruise passengers are satisfied with Carnival\u2019s salad options<\/h2>\n

While most cruise passengers think Carnival offers an acceptable amount of salad choices, some said they\u2019d like to see the salad bar include grilled chicken and other protein toppings. A number of passengers also indicated that they want the cruise line to bring back the mushrooms that it previously offered. <\/p>\n

\u201cI mean\u2026.there\u2019s a whole salad bar. Only thing I\u2019d like to see added is grilled chicken to top it with for the salad bar on lido,\u201d suggested Jennifer Smalls. \u201cAlthough The way I see most people making their salad\u2026..it\u2019s no longer healthy.\u201d <\/p>\n

One passenger also offered a helpful tip for cruisers looking for additional salad toppings \u2014 check out the burger and taco toppings bars. <\/p>\n
