Executive Summary

Marcus Funset Boulevard is a vibrant Family Entertainment Center (FEC) that shares a building with Marcus Hollywood Cinema, a 90-year old theater in Appleton WI. Funset Boulevard first opened its doors in 1996, and today, under the leadership of General Manager Peggy Keil, it continues to provide a dynamic mix of movies and family-friendly attractions.

Challenges

Marcus Funset Boulevard featured a variety of arcade games, but the center relied on outdated ticket and token systems, and many games were aging. To modernize the arcade, enhance the guest experience, and drive both profits and foot traffic, the company sought to refresh its game room with updated technology and new attractions.

Solution Process

Peggy and her team collaborated closely with Betson sales representative Athena Symonds on the extensive remodel of the game room within the FEC. With Athena’s expertise, they carefully curated the ideal mix of merchandisers, video, and redemption games to maximize revenue and attract more guests. Trusting Betson’s guidance, Peggy ensured that every element was strategically placed to support a successful business model. Additionally, she took advantage of Betson’s Parts Packages, ensuring the arcade remained operational and well-maintained for a seamless guest experience. Some of the games that were placed include Find A Key Deluxe (The Really Big Crane Company), Connect 4 Hoops (Bay Tek Entertainment), Fast & Furious Arcade 43″ Standard (Raw Thrills), Fantastic Prize (UNIS), World Football Pro (ICE), and more.

Results, and Return on Investment

The revitalization of Marcus Funset Boulevard’s game room has proven to be a strategic investment, generating a significant increase in revenue and drawing enthusiastic guests of all ages to both the Family Entertainment Center and its adjacent movie theater. Guests have responded positively to the upgraded selection, enhancing the overall entertainment experience.

Peggy and her team remain committed to maintaining a dynamic arcade by regularly updating the game lineup, replacing underperforming titles with fresh, engaging options. They have also been highly satisfied with Betson’s parts packages and the ongoing communication between their team and Betson, ensuring seamless operations and long-term success.
