A newly released impact study reveals the Tribe generated more than $4 billion in economic activity in 2023, reinforcing its role as one of the state\u2019s largest financial contributors.<\/p>\n<p>As one of Alabama\u2019s largest employers, PCI supports more than 7,400 jobs in key industries such as tourism, technology, and manufacturing, strengthening communities and expanding opportunities across the state. The Tribe\u2019s business footprint extends beyond Alabama, employing more than 21,000 individuals through 40 companies across the U.S. and the Caribbean. These investments translate into over $1 billion in wages and benefits, directly supporting families and boosting local economies.<\/p>\n<h3>Expanding Business Beyond Gaming\u00a0<\/h3>\n<p>That financial footprint extends well beyond casinos. While gaming remains central to PCI\u2019s success, the Tribe has expanded into engineering, environmental services, construction, manufacturing, technology, communications, and aviation\u2014ensuring long-term economic stability and job growth for Alabamians.<\/p>\n<p>A recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.al.com\/news\/2025\/02\/inside-the-poarch-creek-tribes-4-billion-impact-on-alabamas-economy.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AL.com report<\/a> highlights PCI\u2019s expansion into aerospace, engineering, and manufacturing, underscoring its growing economic influence. The Tribe owns Poarch Creek Federal Services, a portfolio of 15 companies operating in diverse industries. Among its recent ventures, PCI partnered with AE Industrial Partners and its affiliate, Rocket Shoals, to convert a 2.2 million-square-foot former factory into an aerospace hub, creating new high-skilled job opportunities.<\/p>\n<h3>Significant Contributions to Alabama\u2019s Tax Base<\/h3>\n<p>Beyond job creation, PCI\u2019s financial contributions help sustain Alabama\u2019s roads, schools, and public safety programs. In 2023, the Tribe provided $340 million in state taxes and $56 million to county governments, ensuring communities have the resources they need. These funds help maintain infrastructure, improve education, and support emergency services, demonstrating PCI\u2019s lasting impact on the state\u2019s financial well-being.<\/p>\n<h3>Commitment to Community and Charitable Giving<\/h3>\n<p>PCI\u2019s commitment extends beyond economic development. Since 2021, the Tribe has donated more than $37 million to nonprofits, educational programs, and community initiatives across Alabama.<\/p>\n<p>In 2024 alone, PCI provided critical funding to organizations that improve the lives of Alabamians. The Birmingham Zoo received support for conservation efforts, while Magic Moments and the Alabama Make-A-Wish Foundation benefited from donations helping children with life-threatening illnesses. The Madison County Senior Center received funding to expand resources for elderly residents, and PCI supported Alabama PALS Coastal Cleanup to protect the state\u2019s natural environment.
