T<\/span>he American single malt category has been growing in recent years. Once dominate by distillers like Westland in Seattle, Westward in Oregon, Balcones in Texas, and Stranahan\u2019s in Colorado, American single malts are now found all over the country, and the category is moving toward official government recognition. It\u2019s no longer the domain of craft distillers, either, as some of the largest American spirits makers, including Jack Daniel\u2019s, have introduced single malts. The latest to join the fray is Bulleit, the Kentucky distiller best known for its bourbon and rye.<\/p>\n

Bulleit American Single Malt<\/a> is a new and permanent addition to the brand\u2019s family of whiskeys. It\u2019s made with a mash bill of 100% malted barley and aged in charred new American white oak barrels. It\u2019s bottled at 90 proof (45% ABV).<\/p>\n

Bulleit American Single Malt delivers notes of sweet vanilla and toasted oak on the nose. On the palate, it is light and fruity with hints of red fruit and pear. All that leads to a smooth finish of oaky caramel and subtle cocoa notes.<\/p>\n

Bulleit American Single Malt is packaged in a 750 mL bottle \u2014 this time made from green recycled glass instead of the clear bottle used for its bourbon and rye. It\u2019s available nationwide for a suggested retail price of $59.99. <\/p>\n
