This comes in the wake of a massive $1.4 billion theft from the cryptocurrency exchange Bybit, reportedly orchestrated by North Korean hackers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What Happened<\/strong>: In a post on X, Mow proposed that Ethereum, the dominant smart contract platform in terms of volume, should execute a hard fork. The aim is to return the purloined funds to Bybit and hinder\u00a0the North Korean government from\u00a0exploiting the stolen assets.<\/p>\n<p>Mow expressed his support for the rollback of Ethereum\u2019s chain, stating,\u00a0&#8220;I fully support rolling back\u00a0Ethereum&#8217;s chain (again) so the\u00a0stolen ETH is returned to\u00a0Bybit and also to\u00a0prevent the North Korean government\u00a0from using those funds to\u00a0finance their nuclear weapons program.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I fully support rolling back Ethereum&#8217;s chain (again) so the stolen ETH is returned to <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Bybit_Official?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@Bybit_Official<\/a> and also to prevent the North Korean government from using those funds to finance their nuclear weapons program.
