Chippenham <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Furniturebox has returned to profit with a 20% surge in sales.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The online retailer made a \u00a3612,288 profit in 2024 following a \u00a31,030,530 loss the previous year due to the \u00a33 million investment in its new warehouse headquarters.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Sales increased by 20.6% from \u00a321,333,813 in 2023 to \u00a325,617,335 last year.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Turn-over in the United States almost tripled to \u00a36 million \u2013 with more than 100 products launched and reach expanded through Amazon US, and European sales outside the UK doubled.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Revealing results for the 2023-24 financial year ending on July 31 2024, co-owners Monty George and Dan Beckles, both aged 27, said US expansion drove growth across all sectors, despite a \u2018complex\u2019 domestic environment hit by \u2018persistent cost of living concerns\u2019.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Co-founder and managing director Monty George said: \u201cWe are delighted to have returned to profit with a big jump in sales in what has been a really tough market for everyone in the interiors market.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cOur first loss the previous year was due to the major investment in our new warehouse headquarters which has brought huge efficiency savings and allows us to deliver more quickly than our competitors.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThis was part of a long-term strategy which is really paying dividends with a strong new management team in place, all committed to sustainable growth here and in the US and throughout the rest of Europe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In a strategic report accompanying the results, George and Beckles said their \u2018core growth strategy\u2019 remains on track and they were confident of \u2018accelerated momentum\u2019 in the current financial year, despite \u2018mixed signals in the market\u2019.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The report said that new challenges including conflicts in the Middle East had led to shipping delays and rising costs, putting pressure on margins.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">But the business had still managed to increase margins due to its strong supplier relationships and proactive planning.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a title=\"http:\/\/www.furniturebox.co.uk\" href=\"http:\/\/www.furniturebox.co.uk\">Furniturebox <\/a>has made sustainability a big priority with a \u2018no plastic\u2019 first approach which has seen a significant reduction in plastic usage and greater use of recycled material.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The company has achieved FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification for the second year \u2013 using forest products that are sustainably sourced and managed.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">More than 90 new products were launched and costs were managed with technology advancements including adopting AI-driven tools.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Furniturebox strives to foster an environment of openness and enjoyment and \u2018if employees dread Monday mornings, we know we have failed\u2019.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The move to the new 88,000 sq metre warehouse HQ next to the M4 at Indurent Park near Chippenham has now \u2018fully stabilised\u2019 and \u2018incremental efficiency improvements are being implemented continuously\u2019.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The investment in a state-of-the-art warehouse and distribution centre means Furniturebox can deliver for free throughout the UK the next day on most orders placed 8pm the previous night \u2013 among the very fastest delivery times online and a match for global brands with their own delivery teams.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Furniturebox\u2019s warehouse and dispatch teams have been nominated for the Distribution\/Delivery Heroes Award at the prestigious <a title=\"https:\/\/awards.retail-week.com\/live\/en\/page\/2025-shortlist\" href=\"https:\/\/awards.retail-week.com\/live\/en\/page\/2025-shortlist\">2025 Retail Week Awards<\/a> in March.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Furniturebox has more than 8,000 reviews on Trustpilot and a near perfect 4.9 rating.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">An incredible 95% of customers on the online
