Oh, you want an example of why everyone should genotype everything?<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41597-024-04243-7\">The FLAIR-GG federated network of FAIR germplasm data resources<\/a>. For sure it should require data to be FAIR.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.genresj.org\/index.php\/grj\/article\/view\/genresj.IHXU5248\">The EURISCO-EVA Information System, an innovative approach to the data management of multi-site crop evaluation data<\/a>. Even evaluation data, though? That usually comes from genebank partners, not the genebanks themselves. Wouldn&#8217;t that be a problem?<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.genresj.org\/index.php\/grj\/article\/view\/genresj.HLSN8777\">A case study on lentil to demonstrate the value of using historic data stored in genebanks to guide the selection of resources for research and development projects<\/a>. Oh, you want an example why evaluation data should be included in (or linked to) genebank documentation systems?<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/abs\/pii\/S0011224025000112\">Indian cryogenebank conserving diverse plant genetic resources for the last three decades: Achievements and way forward<\/a>. Is it certified, though?<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/arxiv.org\/pdf\/2501.15962\">Share a Tiny Space of Your Freezer to Preserve Seed Diversity<\/a>. Meanwhile, at the other end of the technology continuum&#8230;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/peerj.com\/articles\/18146\/\">Applications of dry chain technology to maintain high seed viability in tropical climates<\/a>. If your freezer is in the tropics, think about handling your seeds this way. And maybe you&#8217;ll get certified \ud83d\ude42<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41559-024-02633-z\">Insights from a century of data reveal global trends in <em>ex situ<\/em> living plant collections<\/a>. Maybe botanic gardens should be certified too, presumably. Would it have made a difference? Actually, now I think of it, does this mean the system as a whole needs to be certified? Anyway, good thing the data were FAIRish.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/nph.onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/full\/10.1002\/ppp3.10628\">A framework for long-term environmental monitoring using living plant collections in botanic gardens: A global review and case study from Trinity College Botanic Garden<\/a>. Another example of the benefits of FAIR evaluation data. And of botanical gardens.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/royalsocietypublishing.org\/doi\/10.1098\/rstb.2023.0216\">Sustainable high-yield farming is essential for bending the curve of biodiversity loss<\/a>. And genebanks (and maybe botanical gardens too, why not?) are essential for sustainable high-yield farming.
