Even if you use <a href=\"https:\/\/tagmanager.google.com\/\">Google Tag Manager<\/a>. There are many known issues when cross-domain tracking <a href=\"https:\/\/www.simoahava.com\/analytics\/iframe-cross-domain-tracking-in-google-tag-manager\/\">iframes<\/a>, for example.<\/p>\n<p>Google Tag Manager implements the cross-domain tracking plugin quite handily via the Universal Analytics tag template, and often the easiest way to track links and form submits is to use the <strong>Auto-Link Domains<\/strong> option, as described in this great series of posts on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bounteous.com\/insights\/2015\/06\/16\/cross-domain-tracking-with-google-tag-manager\/\">cross-domain tracking<\/a> by Bounteous.<\/p>\n<p>However, sometimes you want more precision in decorating the URLs. Perhaps you only want to decorate one specific link rather than all links that share the same hostname. If you set the <strong>Decorate Links<\/strong> tag to fire with a <strong>Just Links<\/strong> trigger, then any link click that causes that trigger to go off will be decorated by the tag. Similarly, if you set the <strong>Decorate Forms<\/strong> tag to fire with a <strong>Form<\/strong> trigger, then any form submit that toggles that trigger will have its destination URL decorated by the tag.<\/p>\n<div style=\"aspect-ratio: 1458 \/ 922;\" class=\"figure nocaption\">\n<p>    <a href=\"https:\/\/www.simoahava.com\/images\/2018\/08\/decorate-tags.jpg\" title=\"Decorate tag types\"><\/p>\n<p>    <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"fig-img\" height=\"922\" width=\"1458\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.simoahava.com\/images\/2018\/08\/decorate-tags.jpg#ZgotmplZ\" alt=\"Decorate tag types\"\/><\/p>\n<p>    <\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>For example, if you create a <strong>Just Links<\/strong> trigger with the following condition:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Click URL<\/strong> matches RegEx <code>shop\\.domain\\.com\/cart\/<\/code><\/p>\n<p>Then any click on a link whose <code>href<\/code> contains <code>shop.domain.com\/cart\/<\/code> will be decorated with cross-domain parameters.
