Every year Creative England<\/a> announces the 50 most exciting, innovative and disruptive individuals and companies across England, working in the fields of games, TV, film and digital media \u2013 and we are excited to reveal that this year Slurpy Studios<\/a> have made the list!<\/p>\n Slurpy Studios featuring in the CE50 report (including Emmeline Pankhurst artwork)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Minister for Digital and the Creative Industries, Margot James, said:<\/p>\n Our creative industries are an economic and cultural powerhouse enjoyed by millions around the world and it is great to see the innovative and creative talent on this list. We are working closely with industry to make sure this upward trajectory continues as we build a Britain fit for the future.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n The CE50<\/a> was announced at the annual event Creative England Live<\/strong>, which took place on the 24th<\/sup> May 2018 at Facebook\u2019s HQ in London. The event was full of inspiring keynotes from policy makers, tech demos and panel discussions, including: Georgie Barrat (The Gadget Show), Lemn Sissay MBE, an \u2018in-conversation\u2019 with Sir Peter Bazalgette, and an \u2018Investing in Creativity\u2019 panel. Aside from the fanstastic speakers, the event\u2019s main aim is to bring people together and spark new collaborations. Slurpy was one of two Hertfordshire-based companies<\/a>; the other being Interactive Imagination, who create interactive exhibits across VR, touch-screen and mechatronic interactions.<\/p>\n The CE50 map showing all companies \u2013 can you spot Slurpy at No. 40?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Chief Executive of Creative England, Caroline Norbury (MBE), added:<\/p>\n The creative sectors are a cornerstone of the UK\u2019s economy and key to driving future growth and prosperity. They are worth \u00a392bn in GVA and are outgrowing the wider economy by twice the rate. They employ 2m people and make over \u00a321bn in service exports.
