The tab is named <strong>Errors<\/strong> and shows you the <strong>number of exceptions thrown by GTM\u2019s tag templates on the page<\/strong>. If a <strong>tag template<\/strong> in GTM <strong>fails to fire<\/strong> due to an error, this tab would show details about the tag that failed and the error that caused it.<\/p>\n<div style=\"aspect-ratio: 1846 \/ 602;\" class=\"figure nocaption\">\n<p>    <a href=\"https:\/\/www.simoahava.com\/images\/2018\/11\/exception-thrown.jpg\" title=\"Exception thrown\"><\/p>\n<p>    <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"fig-img\" height=\"602\" width=\"1846\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.simoahava.com\/images\/2018\/11\/exception-thrown.jpg#ZgotmplZ\" alt=\"Exception thrown\"\/><\/p>\n<p>    <\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Note that <strong>it\u2019s actually quite rare to have a tag throw exceptions if something goes awry<\/strong>. The Twitter tag, as in the screenshot above, is one of the rare tags that actually throws an error if you try to, for example, add an incorrectly formatted value as its parameter (<code>plainvalue<\/code> as the value of the <code>content_ids<\/code> parameter, for example).<\/p>\n<p>If an error is thrown, you\u2019ll see which tag threw the error and what the error was.<\/p>\n<p>As you can see from the screenshot above, the error message isn\u2019t always very helpful, but at least you\u2019ll know which tag failed, and you can use this information to debug the tag thoroughly.<\/p>\n<p>Time will tell if this tab will surface other types of issues with a container running on a web page!<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>While using the Google Tag Manager user interface around Halloween 2018, you might have noticed a new tab in Google Tag Manager\u2019s Preview mode.
