{"id":101231,"date":"2025-02-21T09:44:50","date_gmt":"2025-02-21T09:44:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peraltafinancing.com\/analytics\/gtmtips-use-product-scoped-custom-dimensions-in-ga-firebase\/"},"modified":"2025-02-21T09:44:50","modified_gmt":"2025-02-21T09:44:50","slug":"gtmtips-use-product-scoped-custom-dimensions-in-ga-firebase","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fivemor.com\/?p=101231","title":{"rendered":"#GTMTips: Use Product-scoped Custom Dimensions In GA Firebase"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Thanks to the intrepid detective work of <strong>J\u00f8rn Reidel<\/strong> and <strong>Ahmed Marof<\/strong>, it looks like one of the big hurdles for doing a full migration from using the legacy <a href=\"https:\/\/developers.google.com\/analytics\/devguides\/collection\/ios\/v3\/sdk-download\">Google Analytics<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/developers.google.com\/tag-manager\/android\/v4\/\">Google Tag Manager<\/a> SDKs to the latest <a href=\"https:\/\/developers.google.com\/tag-manager\/ios\/v5\/\">Tag Manager + Firebase<\/a> SDK is now a non-issue.<\/p>\n<p>The issue is, of course, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.simoahava.com\/gtm-tips\/product-scoped-custom-dimensions-and-metrics\/\">Product-scoped Custom Dimensions<\/a> or more specifically the lack of support thereof. Until now, I\u2019d been holding against recommending the migration to anyone with Enhanced Ecommerce tracking set up simply because the documentation didn\u2019t mention the possibility of sending these custom definitions to Google Analytics.<\/p>\n<p>But, J\u00f8rn Reidel did what anyone who wants to actually find the truth beyond documentation should have done: he tested different ways to do it, and found the solution.
